Crispy Schezwan Idli            

Have you got bored of eating Idli with same chutney and sambar... then try this different twist . These are tawa fried Idli sauted in Schezwan sauce. Perfect for evening snack or appetizer to surprise your guests. They will not know it is Idli until you say.

Idli - 2 no

Oil - 1 tbsp for frying Idli

Oil - 2 tsp Onion - 2 tbsp chopped.capcicum[ red and green] - 3 tbsp

Schezwan sauce - 2 tsp

Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp

Spring onion - 1 tbsp chopped

Salt to taste

Cut Idli's into length-wise [ like you cut for french fries] .Heat pan on tawa, add oil and tawa fry idli's on both sides till they are crisp and golden brown.

Transfer into seperate plate and to the same pan add oil and heat it.Add onion, capsicum and saute till they are half- cooked.

Add schezwan sauce with little water and allow to sizzle.

Now add fried idli's and mix well until well coated.Finally finish with coriander leaves and spring onion.Taste and sprinkle salt if you feel its less and enjoy.
