Drumstick leaves are very rich in Iron,calcium,potassium and may vitamins which is essentials for human body to lead a healthy life but max of us avoid it because of its bitter taste.Here i  this post I have shared some tips which helps in reducing bitter taste so that you could enjoy its taste and also health benefits.

Drumstick leaves with toor dal dry curry


Ingredients:

Oil- 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Channa dal - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Ghee - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 2 spring
Onion - 1 chopped
Red chilli - 2
Coconut - 2 tbsp grated
drumstick leaves -  1 bunch [around 4 cups]
Toor dal – 2 tbsp [Soaked for 15 mminutes in water]
Salt to taste


Method:

First separate the leaves from the stem and wash thoroughly with water.
Place a pan on your stove and once it is hot add oil.
Add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle.
Add channa dal and fry till they are golden brown.
Add onion,red chilli,curry leaves and turmeric and cook for 2-3 minutes,
Once they are turned golden brown, add soaked toor dal. Cook the dal for 5 minutes till they are 80 percent done.
Now add drumstick leaves ,mix it well woth dal mixture.
At this point of time you could add salt and cook it for 10 to 12 minutes till the raw flavour goes away.
Don’t forget to mix it in between and sprinkle water if it is dry to avoid burning.
Once the drumstick leaves are cooked well add ghee and coconut,mix them well.
So delicious drumstick leaves are cooked perfect without bitter taste and it is now ready to enjoy.
Serve it with hot steam rice.
