Oil - 1 1/2 tbsp
mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
channa dal - 1/2 tsp
curry leaves - 1 spring
garlic - 2 pods crushed
turmeric - 1/2 tsp
sambar powder - 1 tsp
garam masala - 1/2 tsp

Method
Cut both ends of plantain, peel off the skin and slice them into thin pieces. You may also chop them into small cubes as well if you prefer.
Place pan on your stove, add oil.
Once it is hot, add mustard seeds, Allow to pop up.
Then add channa dal and fry till golden brown.
Add curry leaves and crushed garlic. Mix them well.
Now add turmeric, sambar powder, garam masala and salt to taste. Keep the flame low as these powders any burn soon since we added them directly into oil.
Now add sliced raw banana into oil. Mix it well combined with masala powders and cook for 10-12 minutes till they are roasted well and slightly crisp.
You may also sprinkle little water if it is too dry. [To avoid burning. But don’t add lot of water]
After 12 minutes of roasting your delicious golden brown raw banana fry is ready.
This taste great with any kind of variety rice especially with rasam rice, curd rice, sambar rice etc.
