Egg fried rice 

Egg fried rice  is a very famous Indo-chinese  street food or fast food in India in which rice is tossed with egg and fried onions,capsicum etc with a final touch of sauces.

Egg fried rice in tamil - click here


Cooked rice – ¾ cup [ You could cook with some veggies like carrot,beans and green peas ]

Onion – 1 chopped

Capsicum – ½ chopped

Spring onion – 2 tbsp chopped

Coriander leaves -  some chopped

Ginger and garlic – 1 tbsp chopped

Oil – 2 tbsp

Egg – 2

Sweet chlli sauce – 1 tbsp

Chilli garlic sauce – 2 tbsp

Soy sauce – ½ tsp

Sauces can be adjusted according to your taste buds

Salt to taste


Place a pan on your stove and add oil. Once it is hot , add ginger and garlic and saute for 2 minutes till they are golden brown

Add onion and saute for just few seconds till onions are half cooked. Half cooked onion will give nice flavour and crispyness to the rice

Add egg and stir them slightly to make scrambles out of it.

Once egg is cooked without raw flavour, add capsicum, spring onion and cilantro and give a stir.

Add rice and mix it well combined with other ingredients and fry for 1 minutes.

Add all the sauces, mix well.

Sprinkle some salt after tasting the rice as the sauces have salt in it already.

Now saute for just few seconds and your yummy egg fried rice is ready.

While serving sprinkle some fresh pepper over it and enjoy with sauce or Manchurians
