Chocolate cake in Pressure cookware

So friends, you love baking and you want to bake lot of delicious cake at home but you don’t have an Oven at home ? No Worries. Today in deeps kitchen, I am gonna show you guys how to make Chocolate cake in pressure cookware. So this is going to be Eggless chocolate cake without oven and also We have a Special guest feedback in the video So make sure you watch video as well for better understand and also to see how the special guest enjoyed.

Believe me the result of the baked cake in pressure cookware is incredible. They are so spongy and soft and jus melt in the mouth. No one will believe if you make this in cookware that too without egg. So no more worries. So here is the recipe.

All-purpose flour [ maida ] – ½ cup
Baking powder -  ½ tsp
Baking soda – ¼ tsp
Salt – ¼ tsp
Cocoa powder – 1 ½ tbsp
Sugar – ¼ cup
Butter – 3 tbsp
Yogurt – ¼ cup
Milk – 2  or 3 tbsp
Vanilla essence – ¼ tsp

Method :

To create oven like atmosphere on your stove top, you will need heavy and thick vessel.
You could use
Pressure cookware.

Preparation for Stove-top oven

I used my 3 litre Hawkins pressure cookware. You may use any brand. If you are using any other vessel make sure it is thick and heavy because thin vessel will burn quickly and it wont create high temperature inside to bake cake.

Important : No need to use Whistle till you finish baking cake so make sure you keep it aside .

Fill Bottom of the vessel with sand or salt for 2 inch height. I used 2 cups of sand.
Spread the sand or salt evenly, cover with lid, Switch on flame in medium and preheat for 10 minutes.

Please use Non-stick or aluminium cake tin for best results  then using ever silver bowls.

Note : I baked very small cake for my kid, but if you want big size one, use big vessel or pressure cookware with big cake tin and increase the ingredient measurement accordingly.

Cake batter preparation

Place sieve over a mixing bowl and sieve All purpose flour [ maida], baking soda, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder. It helps in distributing leveling agent evenly and also to avoid lumps in flour. Keep it aside.

In another mixing bowl, add butter and powdered sugar and cream them till they are smooth and creamy using spatula or whisk [ Can use electric beater as well]

Now add yogurt [ curd] and continue whisking it for 2-3 minutes till they are soft and fluffy.
Add vanilla essence and milk. Give it a mix and add this batter to the dry flour which we prepared.

Fold them gently till well-combined. Don’t stir or mix.SO cake batter is ready.
Now Grease your cake tin at bottom and sides with some butter and dust some dry flour. You may watch video for better understanding. Actually doing this helps in taking out cake easily after baked.

Pour the prepared cake batter into this and even the top surface. Now this is ready to go into our preheated pressure cookware.

Now, open your pressure cookware. Be careful the lid also must be very hot. Place some lid or any other heat proof material inside. Basically you don’t want the cake tin to touch the sand. So I used my stainless steel bowl lid.

And then over the lid place your cake tin. Cover with lid and bake for 10-12 minutes till you get cake aroma. Kindly note that don’t open in between unnecessarily because it may reduce the temperature inside the vessel and your cake may not bake well on time.

Note : If you have doubled the ingredients to bake big size cake you may need to bake the cake for more than 30 minutes. So best sign to know that your cake is cooked is, you will get cake aroma.

To check it out, use tooth pick or knife. Insert inside and if it comes out clean then your ccake is done. IF it comes out wet, bake or another couple of minutes.

Transfer into plate by flipping it upside down and tap the bottom so that the cake will come out of the bowl. Allow it to cool down .

This cake was very spongy and soft. No one will believe that you made in pressure cookware that too without egg. They are perfect.

You may also make carrot cake, banana cake, lemon cake or simply sponge cake the same way by replacing the cocoa powder with corresponding ingredient.
